Privacy policy

Last updated 24 October 2026

In short

Voski doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. Your conversations stay on your device.

What happens to your speech

When you tap the mic, Voski listens through your device's microphone. The speech is recognised, translated and read aloud on the device, by the speech and translation technology built into it: Apple's on iPhone and Mac, and on Android the phone's on-device speech recogniser and Google's ML Kit. Voski doesn't save your audio, and doesn't send it, or the words recognised from it, anywhere.

The conversation shown on screen exists only while Voski is open. Voski doesn't save it.

Downloads

The first time you choose a language, your device downloads its speech and translation models from Apple or Google, as it would for any app that uses them. Those downloads are made by the operating system under Apple's or Google's own privacy policies, and contain nothing about you or your conversations.

On Android, Google's ML Kit, which translates and tells the two languages apart, also sends Google its own diagnostics: which languages are set up and detected, the phone model, Voski's version, performance figures, error codes and a random identifier for this installation. Google uses them to keep ML Kit working and doesn't pass them on. They never include your audio, the words you say or their translations. See ML Kit's data disclosure.

What Voski stores

Only your settings, on your device: the two languages you chose, the response delay and the reading speed. They're removed when you delete the app.

No accounts, tracking or advertising

Voski has no sign-in, no servers of its own, no analytics of its own, no advertising and no tracking.

Children

Voski collects no data from anyone, including children.
